FWD.US: WE CAN'T AFFORD IT
For FWD.us, we designed the visual brand and report We Can’t Afford It: Mass Incarceration and the Family Tax, making the $348 billion cost of family incarceration clear and urgent. Through custom logos, icons, photo treatments, and data visualizations, we transformed complex research into a visual story that resonated across print and web.

BRAND OVERVIEW Sheet

Hand drawn Icon Set
I created a set of 30+ hand-drawn icons that were integrated into infographics and used as visual accents across the report and supporting materials.

PHOTO ILLUSTRATIONS
To illustrate the everyday impact of mass incarceration, I combined documentary-style photos with hand-drawn objects symbolizing absence or something changed in affected families’ lives.

Executive Summary
The standalone executive summary served as both a snapshot of the full report as well as a snapshot of the visual style. The visual direction of the executive summary informed the look and feel of the full report, website, and supporting collateral.
